2011 Author Visits

CCIRA 2011: On the Road to Literacy

CCIRA is very excited to offer our Colorado schools a wonderful list of authors for school visits in February 2011! The authors that come to the conference look forward to visiting your schools and interacting with students. We hope that you will take advantage of this wonderful opportunity!

Even if you have never scheduled an author visit before, CCIRA is here to help. We can provide lots of information about creating a schedule, ordering books, and making your day special for both the author and your students.

Please read the descriptions carefully, and visit an author's website for more information about each author. Note that some authors/presenters also do small writing workshops with students, and some do professional development with staff.

  • Authors are available the week of the conference, January 31, 2011, unless noted. Some authors are available the week before or after the conference.
  • Presentation formats may vary with authors, typically K-2 for 30 minutes, grades 3-12 approximately 40-50 minutes. Most authors will do three presentations in a day, plus a book signing.
  • Costs range from $600 to $2800.
  • Schools are responsible for transporting the author from and to the Mariott unless otherwise noted.
  • Scheduling will begin by email on August 1, 2010 at 12:00 noon at sdalton.ccira@gmail.com and will be scheduled in the order they are received. Please do not send your requests before noon on Aug 1.
  • Contact Susan Dalton, Conference Coordinator, with questions and specifics about costs and programs: sdalton.ccira@gmail.com
